An Update on the iPad Mini

Currently, Apple is still being mum about the upcoming iPad Mini but a lot of details and information about the product have been circulating online already.

For today, we're giving you a rundown of what has been posted so far about the product, while we all wait for the official Apple announcement, and press launch invitation.

Below are the latest update, based on what we know, the probables, and the uncertains.

What we know for sure:

1. The iPad Mini has a smaller screen pegged at 7.85 inches across the diagonal.
2. It will not come retina display.
3. It will ship with the new lightning port.
4. It will have a thinner design than the original iPad.


What it could possibly have:

1. The iPad Mini will run on an A6 processor, same one as the iPhone 5.
2. It will have two cameras. One at the back, and one front-facing for FaceTime.
3. It will come in 16, 32 and 64 gigabytes.

What we're not so sure about:

1. The iPad Mini could likewise have two versions, a WiFi only and one with cellular data for wireless internet access.
2. The launch date looks like October 23, as Apple have already confirmed to host an event on that day - although no clues about the iPad Mini was mentioned.
3. Pricing is still in the dark but many suggests that it could be between $199 to $349 to be competitive with other same-size tablets and electronic readers.
