Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 Rolls Out

Amazon has announced that the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 will roll out to the public toady, November 15, 2012.

According to the press release, the tablet reader is now available to buy online for $299. After which, it can then be bought at Best Buy, Staples, Radio Shack and other retailers starting November 16.

Meanwhile, the mobile network capable Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G will start shipping next week, on Thanksgiving and probably just in time for Black Friday 2012.


Amazon Kindle VP, Dave Limp says, "Kindle Fire HD has been Amazon’s best-selling product worldwide since launch, and that was before we even started shipping the best tablet we’ve ever built."


The specs of the new Amazon Kindle HD 8.9:
  • 8.9-inch, 1920×1200 resolution display at 254 ppi.
  • Dual antenna, dual-band WiFi with MIMO technology
  • TI OMAP 4470 processor and Imagination SGX544 graphics engine
  • Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio
  • 10 hours of battery life
  • Front-facing HD camera
  • Downloadable Amazon apps, books, audiobooks and magazines

For several years now, Amazon has been one of the top selling gadgets during the holiday season and the company hopes that the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 will continue their Black Friday success.
