The Vow Hoping To Top Weekend Box Office

Movie goers this weekend are prepping up the box-office with the latest tearjerker from Nicolas Sparks, "The Vow". This romantic drama, based on a true story, stars Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams.

The story talks about Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, a newly wed couple whose car crashed early in the film, leaving the wife in a coma. Upon her awakening, she suffers memory loss and her husband must now do everything again to win her love back.

Sounds like "50 First Dates", but on a more serious side. Or even "The Notebook", with as many loving and memorable scenes. In any case, the general critic review seems to be positive and many say they could easily top the weekend box office.

Other films that will be taking "The Vow" a run for its money are action thriller "Safe House," starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds; Fox 3D re-release of "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace"; and New Line's "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island."

"The Vow" stars Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum, Sam Neill, Jessica Lange and many others. It's is directed by Michael Sucsy for Sony Pictures. It's rated PG-13 and has a running time of 1 hour and 44 minutes.
