Madagascar 3 Tops Box Office For Second Week In A Row

The animated movie, "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" remains at the top spot for this U.S. and Canadian box office charts this weekend - it's second consecutive run.

The family movie raked in $35.5 million in ticket sales from studio estimates Sunday. Much of the film's success this week is attributed to Father's Day, many say.

Meanwhile, the Ridley Scott sci-fi thriller "Prometheus" comes in second with $20.2 million while the 1980s musical film adaptation of "Rock of Ages" is third with $15.1 million.

The official and final figures for the weekend box office will be released by Hollywood's major studios Monday.
