Philippine King of Comedy, Dolphy is Dead

Rodolfo Vera Quizon, Sr. or more famously known as the Philippine King of Comedy, Dolphy, passed away at 8:34 PM on July 10, 2012. He was 83 years old.

Back in 2009, Dolphy became afflicted with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. A battle which he fought for three years until finally succumbing to it in Makati Medical Center tonight.

Currently, social networking site, Twitter, is now being flooded with mourning and grief for the passing away of the legendary actor. Currently, RIP Dolphy is trending and many are expressing their gratitude to the laughter that he has brought to Filipinos all throughout his career.


Dolphy is a multi-awarded actor who has won best acting trophies from FAMAS, PMPC Star Awards, Metro Manila Film Festival and many other film and television award giving bodies.

He has also received several lifetime achievement awards for his remarkable talent and honorable dedication to his craft.

We join the world today in remembering the life and times of Dolphy. Thank you for all the laughter, and tears. RIP Dolphy.
