Tonight at the NBA, it's going to be the New York Knicks vs Dallas Mavericks at the Madison Square Garden. The New Yorkers are coming from a loss last Friday from the New Orleans Hornets, which puts Jeremy Lin again on the spotlight today.
Lin has been averaging 24.6 points per game and he's looking to improve that today in their game against the Mavs. But of course, not if Jason Kidd can help it.
New York had a four-game home winning streak before they experienced defeat from the New Orleans and is standing at 8-8 this season as hosts. It is five games off Philadelphia's pace in the Atlantic Division and will also welcome the Nets and Hawks to MSG.
Meanwhile, Dallas has managed six straight wins and improved to 12-4 in the past 16 contests following Friday's 82-75 come-from-behind victory against Philadelphia.
The last time New York defeated Dallas at the Garden was back in 2006, thanks to three 20-point performances from Stephon Marbury, Eddy Curry and Jamal Crawford. Stoudemire paced the Knicks with 28.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in two meetings against the Mavericks in 2010-11.
