Pepsi Sponsors Beyonce Contest For Super Bowl

Would you want to join Beyonce on the field this coming Super Bowl 2013?

If so, then you should check out Pepsi's Halftime Contest where you can get the chance to be among the 100 fans who will introduce Grammy award winner, Beyonce as she takes the stage for the half-time show at the Super Bowl this year.

The contest requires photo entries from hopeful fans showing them in various poses. Among them, 50 lucky contestants will be chosen and their pictures will be featured in a TV ad before the half-time performance.

Josh Brent Investigated For Jerry Brown Death

Josh Brent of the Dallas Cowboys will be investigated for intoxicated manslaughter after he met a car accident that resulted to the untimely death of teammate Jerry Brown. If found guilty, Brent could face up to 20 years jail time.

Brent was behind the wheel driving along a local State Highway in Cincinnati when the car hit the outside curb and flipped and skidded to the middle of the service road. The accident happened at around 2:30 AM.

When police arrived, Brent was seen trying to pull Brown from the car who was already in flames. The authorities conducted a field-sobriety test on Brent and took him to custody afterwards.

Johnny Manziel of the Texas A&M has just won the Heisman Trophy for 2012.

The very proud Manziel stood before the Heisman crowd at the Best Buy Theater Saturday night to hold one of the most well-respected award in American sports.

Did Manziel thought he would win the Heisman Trophy? He says "Never, I mean, it's always a dream. You dream about being in New York and hoisting the Heisman Trophy. But for it to become a reality and me to even be here, it's crazy."

Is Red Bull Safe To Drink?

The US government Food and Drug Administration has recently posted several health hazards and injuries that could have been caused by Red Bull.

Red Bull is currently America's number 1 energy drink in terms of sales and they would now have to answer to the 21 reports that had been filed with the FDA since 2004 regarding adverse reactions from drinking the beverage.

Meanwhile, officials of the company has yet to comment on the report, but it has already announced earlier this week, that they believe Red Bull is safe and there are unaware of any death reports that has been filed involving their product.

The Major League Soccer playoffs start its semifinals leg tonight for the West with the LA Galaxy vs Seattle Sounders live from The Home Depot Center in Carson, California. The kickoff is scheduled to start by 9:00 pm EST.

The California side is coming off from a good victory and confidence will certainly run high as they face the strong defense of the Seattle team.

New York City Marathon 2012 Cancelled on Wake of Hurricane Sandy

The annual New York City Marathon, scheduled for Sunday morning, has been cancelled due to criticisms that the event would affect the city's efforts in recovering from Frankenstorm Sandy.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg first wanted the to push through with the marathon, saying that it would be a good way to tell the world that the city is moving forward strong from the recent superstorm.

However, other elected officials said that there are still a lot of cleaning up and aid that needs to be done, and holding the marathon could only take away manpower and energy which could otherwise be used to focus on helping the hard-hit residents of the city.

The first BCS standings just came out and many were surprised that Florida came in second and higher than Oregon.

In fact, many are thinking that an all-SEC title game would most likely not happen. So the BCS rankings must be wrong.

Spice Girls London 2012 Closing Ceremony Performance Was Best of the Night

Many British music artists performed during the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony but none had the most cheers, both inside the stadium and across the world, than the Spice Girls reunion performance.

The British pop girl group composed of Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) sang their biggest hit, "Wannabe" mashed up with "Spice Up Your Life".

Manchester United IPO, A Success

Manchester United Plc (MANU) is no longer just an English soccer club but it is now among the companies listed in the U.S. stocks exchange after its successful initial public offering yesterday.

The 134-year-old team sold 16.7 million shares yesterday, which is equivalent to 10 percent of the company's stake, at a price of $14 each.

The IPO raised $233.3 million for Manchester United Plc with most investors coming from Americans, according to Vice Chairman Edward Woodward.

Serena Williams Wins a Golden Slam

Serena Williams is now the second woman to achieve a Golden Slam in her tennis career after winning the London 2012 Olympics gold by beating Maria Sharapova, 6-0, 6-1.

Last month, she also won her fifth Wimbledon title, giving her a total of 14 Grand Slam singles titles.

The first woman to achieve the Golden Slam was Steffi Graf, who accomplished the feat during the 1988 Olympics.

British Open 2012 Looking Up For Tiger Woods

The 2012 British Open has teed off and Tiger Woods is performing well. In fact, he is currently the favorite to win this golf title.

Currently, Woods was able to make a 3-under-par 67 score - enough to remain in contention in the tournament.

"I did a good job of that, and now I've got my work cut out for me the next couple of days to keep myself in a similar kind of position," Woods narrated in an interview.
