2011 Philippine Bar Exam Topnotchers List

The list of passers for the 2011 Bar Examinations in the Philippines was released today and a total of 1,913 out of 5,987 examinees made the passing mark. That's a 31.95% passing rate for the first-ever Philippine Bar Exam that contains predominantly multiple choice type questions.

Ending up with the highest score is Raoul Angelo Atadero, of Ateneo de Manila Law School, with 85.536%. He is followed by schoolmate Luz Danielle O. Bolong, with 84.556% while on third is Arellano University's Cherry Liez Rafal-Roble with a score of 84.455%

According to Court Administrator Jose Midas P. Marquez, this is the second highest rate in the millennium. Meanwhile, Supreme Court Associate Justice Roberto Abad claims that 34% passed the multiple choice, 50% passed the legal opinion essay part of the exam and 15% passed the trial memorandum essay part.

One surprising fact that can be said on the list of topnotchers is the absence of any graduate from the University of the Philippines, who for the past years, have been consistent placers in the Top 10.

All successful bar candidates will have their oathtaking on March 21, at the Philippine International Convention Center.
