Jessica Sanchez has a Filipino lineage and many fans are commenting that she should have sang the Philippine national anthem, "Lupang Hinirang" instead.
But we're on the other side of the corner, and we think there's nothing wrong with her singing the US National Anthem because after all, she is American.
And we're actually proud that she was chosen to sing, because it will only show how truly global Filipino talent is.
