Apple iPhone 5 Keynote Event Live Blog

Hey there everyone. Welcome to our live blog for the Apple Keynote event where the iPhone 5 is set to be unveiled.

So just in case you were not able to find a live video streaming of the event, then do just stick with us here as we give you the latest updates from the Yerba Buena Center for Arts in San Francisco.

Among the rumors coming to this day are that the iPhone 5 will have a taller screen, with 4G capability and a smaller dock connector. The new iOS6 will also be featured this day.

- But there will be adapters available so you don't have to throw out your dock, your car, or your airplane.


- Apple now features the new "lightning" connector which can be inserted in either direction.


- iPhone 5 will take photos during video recording

- The iPhone 5 now has three microphones, and can now do FaceTime over cellular networks.


- Panorama mode for the iPhone means you can now take 28-megapixel shots from an 8-megapixel camera.


- Camera is 8 megapixels as last phone but 25 pct smaller.


- iPhone 5 battery is improved as well

- iPhone 5 has a faster A6 processor. 2x improvement in performance and graphics.


- The taller screen means updates for iLife and iWork. Old apps work as before, with black borders top and bottom. Now iPhone can have 5 rows of apps.

- iPhone 5 display specs: 4" 1136x640 16:9 - it also has LTE


- The iPhone 5 is 18 per cent thinner and 20 per cent lighter, weighing a total of 112 grams.

- Shiller: "The hardware and software engineering that has gone into this product is the most challenging our team has ever taken on."

- The iPhone 5 is revealed, which looks like the longer, thinner iPhone 4S that has been previously leaked by websites.

- Phil Schiller takes the stage.

- The iPad has 68 per cent tablet market share. Cook says, "I don't know what these other tablets are doing. They must be in warehouses or on store shelves or maybe in someone's bottom drawer."
