Why Is Jermaine Jones Leaving American Idol?

One of the American Idol Top 12 finalists, Jermaine Jones is set to leave the show this week. The vocal instructor from Pine Hill, New Jersey says on his Tuesday night that he will no longer be on the show.

The tweet, according to his official "Idol" Twitter account, says "Awww I will no longer b on the show." Then moments after, the account itself was later deleted.

Ryan Seacrest has given Jermaine Jones the nickname "Gentle Giant" but after his work and personal history shows that he's not as gentle as Ryan thinks he is.

The primary reason which seems to be being reported why Jermaine Jones had to leave American Idol is because he failed to disclose past arrest cases and criminal history, one of which involves violence.

According to producers of the show, that behavior may not be healthy for the show overall and could compromise the safety of other people involved in American Idol productions.

In the past, Corey Clark from Season 2 was also disqualified after concealing an arrest record. Meanwhile, Frenchie Davis was also removed from American Idol due to her involvement in adult entertainment in the past. The two are just among the handful of others who had their Idol dreams cut short due to their less "family-oriented" past.

To Jermaine Jones, we wish you luck on your singing career. Don't stop chasing the dream.
