As seen earlier, Whitney Houston's casket is placed at the center of the New Hope Baptist Church and is adorned by white roses and purple lilies. Meanwhile, a gospel choir all dressed in white and gold sang for the congregation.
Among those who are attending aside from Houston's family are Dionne Warwick, Clive Davis, Kevin Costner, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, R. Kelly, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Brandy, Roberta Flack, Jordin Sparks, Jennifer Hudson, Elton John, Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce, Jay-Z and even Bobby Brown among many others.
A program has also been distributed to the attendees, with Houston's photos. The program contains loving thoughts from mother Cissy Houston, saying, "I never told you that when you were born, the Holy Spirit told me that you would not be with me long. And I thank God for the beautiful flower he allowed me to raise and cherish for 48 years. Rest, my baby girl in peace. - mommie."
This day marks as exactly one week after the singer's body was discovered lifeless in a Beverly Hills hotel in California. Up until now, the cause of her demise has not yet been determined or publicly revealed.
