Local lifestyle eventologist and fashion maven Christina Wilson shares with us some of her tips on what to get for that special woman in your life today, affordable but thoughtful gift ideas you will surely love.
First, there's always nothing wrong with making your own gift. If she's far away, you can always send her a customized Mothers Day ecard (electronic greeting card) with simple message or poem that you wrote.
Next, Ms. Christina Wilson advices, "Mother's Day is different from Valentine's Day because you don't have to buy roses for your mom. Any flower will always say that you care. Some of the more popular though are carnations, orchids and daisies - buy you can give your mom any flower actually."
Always a good gift idea are scented candles, soaps, lotions or bath gels. The brand doesn't really matter as long as the product comes in her favorite scent. What's good about is, she says, "They're available almost everywhere."
Lastly, if all the spas and salons are fully booked already, you can always just buy or avail a gift certificate from them and let your mom choose when she'll have her day of pampering. "So she doesn't have to go with the Mothers day crowd and choose a nice and peaceful afternoon by herself," Wilson advices.
