June 4 marks the start of a brand new school year this 2012 as millions of school children flock to schools all over the country.
As the population grows, same goes with the number of students annually, however reoccurring problems such as lack of classrooms and teachers are still the top woes for basic education which would lead to poor comprehension and learning of the students.
The Department of Education (DepEd) monitors the start of classes and also have opened help lines for questions and complaints from concerned parents.
There is also the new challenge of the K to 12 project of the Department of Education that would add more years to the current education curriculum that aims to raise the education standard and provide more skills and competency for the students after graduation.
So far, the start of the school year went generally well despite the common scenarios like separation anxiety for new students and increased traffic due to under renovation roads in major roads.
