Hailed as one of the longest living monarchs in the world, Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her 60th year of her reign.
Born April 21, 1926 and crowned queen on June 2, 1952, she is married to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and the mother to Charles (Prince of Wales), Anne (Princess Royal), Prince Andrew (Duke of York), and Prince Edward (Earl of Wessex).
The Diamond Jubilee River Pageant along the river Thames is one of the highlights of this celebration.
Her diamond jubilee coincidentally falls under the same year where the Summer Olympic Games which will be held in London. Queen Elizabeth II has also done a lot of things that monarchs do not usually do.
She became a mechanic and truck driver in the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War II and has loved delivering televised Christmas messages since 1957. She has also met so many world leaders during her reign as well as enduring criticisms yet she remains very loved by the public.
